Chess Club
Chess is one of the oldest and most popular board games played by two opponents on a checkered board! Each specially designed piece moves in unique ways, serving specific purposes and creating intelligent and strategic competition between chess mates. Chess is a highly academic game with fixed rules, each player attempting to force the opponent’s principal piece, the King, into checkmate—a position where it is unable to avoid capture! Children in our new Chess Club program here at A-Game Academics will have both the opportunity to learn the game of chess as well as to improve and master it! Beginner chess players will be taught the fundamentals of chess and learn to play against other beginner opponents, while more experienced players will learn to enhance their chess skills and will be taught the next level of chess play. Advanced chess players will compete against other advanced players for friendly and fun tournament competitions. Everyone, regardless of experience, will improve and have fun!
All children will participate in games and tournament play with prizes and awards. All level of play welcome—beginner to advanced.
